L'dia at the European BassDay 2008

L'dia is an unique female bassplayer and singer who loves to funk and groove.
She recorded her own solo-album “Suleika” (Hop-‘o-my-thumb) in 1995. She writes her own music and plays a lot of instruments herself.
L'dia found her inspiration in bands/artists like Cameo, Zapp, Larry Graham, Level 42, Bootsy, Marcus Miller, etc. The dutch musicmagazine Music Maker asked her for a duo-interview with her and Marcus Miller.
L'dia played in several bands and with several musicians like: Toots Tielemans, Candy Dulfer, David Haynes (drummer Chaka Khan and Prince), Dillon Lewis, Frankfurter Music Messe with David Haynes (drummer Chaka Khan, Prince and Stanley Jordan), Musical Hair, Musical Turks Fruit, Carlo D’Wijs and a lot more…
Nowadays this basslady is a well-known bassplayer on youtube (look for “Lydia on bass”) and a lot of bassforums are talking about her. In the meantime she tours with a dutch cabaret-duo, named Veldhuis en Kemper and a lot of studio-work for others.
Also she’s working on her new energic album with her producer Dillon Lewis. A lot of funk involved! Lydia has an exclusive deal with the big company Fender. She is the only one in Europe having this great deal.
So, come and see this phenomenom funkin’ the roof off the building!

Michael Manring at the European BassDay 2008

Michael Manring is a bassist and composer known for his innovative approach to the instrument and his adventurous solo concerts. He has appeared on over 200 recordings and toured throughout the world. He has received Grammy and Bammie nominations, the Berklee School of Music Distinguished Alumni Award, two Gold Records, two Just Plain Folks awards and the Bassist of the Year award from the readers of Bass Player Magazine.

MICHAEL MANRING is best known for radically expanding the limits of the fretless electric bass. He was chosen as "Bassist of the Year" in Bass Player Magazine's reader's poll in 1994, and has been nominated for a Bammie and a Grammy. L.A. Jazz Scene says "Manring is creating musical history".
